EXHIBITION CATALOGUE

We are pleased to share that our main partners include the Center of UNESCO in Florence (Italy), the National Institute of Anthropology and History  (INAH), and the Museo de la Zona Arqueológica de Palenque “Alberto Ruz Lhuillier”, the City of Palenque, the Gobierno Municipal de Palenque, and the State of Chiapas. Our main collaborator, the Comité de Pueblos Mágicos de Palenque.

“Water for Life”, International Art Exhibitions, is an exclusive, Artistic and Cultural program that exposes a series of works of art inspired by the theme of water throughout the world.

Through Art and History, the theme of water unites these exhibitions with Mexico, thanks to the support of the famous muralist painter Rina Lazo, who worked together with the famous Mexican painter Diego Rivera for the creation of the underwater mural, called “El agua, origin of life”, inside the building, where the fully decorated tank of the CÁRCAMO DEL RÍO LERMA in Mexico City is located.

This sixth edition of “Water for Life” International Art Exhibition is a unique and exclusive collection of landscapes captured on multiple occasions while navigating the 5 interconnected freshwater Great Lakes.

As the Great Lakes provide 48 million people with clean drinking water as it holds 84% of the surface freshwater of North America, and 21% of the world’s supply, it is of utmost importance to protect those waters especially from a health perspective to all the surrounding population.

It is important to mention the size, volume of water and the maritime commercial impact of the Great Lakes, since, thanks to the Great Lakes, 20% of the world’s fresh water passes through Niagara Falls (Ontario, CANADA).

Climate change affects water temperatures, weather patterns, and lake levels. Pollutants from residential, agricultural, and industrial areas reduce water quality, as is the case in several countries, including Mexico.

In this 6th Edition it is essential to raise awareness and increase respect for the environment to protect water resources in this important tourist area of Palenque. We hope that “Water for Life” will help raise awareness in order to ensure safe drinking water for the future.

This Cultural Event will give significant local and international exposure to the city of Palenque and the State of Chiapas.
