WATER FOR LIFE, INTERNATIONAL ART EXHIBITION, 4th Edition 2021-2022: Message from Mara Lezama, Mayor and Municipal President of Benito Juárez, Cancun, Mexico

It is a pleasure that the city of Cancun has been selected as the venue for the 4th Edition of the “Water for Life” International Art Exhibition that will take place from March 24th until April 3rd, 2022.

I want to thank the great team of organizers, as well as the Universidad del Caribe for helping to make this artistic exhibition a reality.

In this important exhibition of several international artists, you will find a series of artworks inspired by the theme of water, about its conservation, and care.

Definitely, art is the best platform of expression capable of provoking feelings, move wills, and touch sensitive fibers, to make us aware of the fragile balance of our ecosystems and of our fresh water sources, highlighting in this edition, the care and protection of the mangroves that protect our coasts and the cenotes, our main source of drinking water throughout the Yucatan Peninsula.

Artistic expressions, throughout civilizations, have been powerful currents of thoughts that have changed the course of history, and this is the precise reason of this exhibition; sensitize with the sublime, to transform in a positive and strong way.

Let’s leave culture to be the one that will tie and keep us together in the search for the best causes for our planet, let’s leave art to be the one that allows us to express in benefit of the environment, and Cancun the example that inspires the world to be aware of the use and care of water.
